What you will need for this test:
Note: Different colored leads will make it easier to work with.
First Step is to make sure the Simple SCR/Triac Tester unit, 9V Battery and the Jumper Leads are good.
Connect the 9V Battery to the Simple SCR/Triac Tester unit.
The Batt light should now be glowing, if not replace the 9V Battery.
Connect the end of one of the Jumper Lead to the Simple SCR/Triac Tester - Anode Terminal and the other end to Simple SCR/Triac Tester - Cathode Terminal.
If the Batt light has stopped glowing, replace the 9V Battery and start this step over.
Note: The brighter the light is glowing the stronger the battery. So if it is very dim you might want to change the battery.
The Test light should now be glowing. If not discard this Jumper Lead, it is not good.
Repeat this step until you have three good Jumper Leads.
With 3 good Jumper Leads, I just need some more information to help you test the SCR/Triacs.
